Here I was, believing that a deep desire and consitent or fervent prayer to God declaring "I want to be to the praise of your glory!" and then believing that somehow over time God would simply transform me by His Spirit was enough. But this message of the gospel of Jesus is more powerful now than ever before. I can't claim to be a person who has much of the mind of Christ but it is obvious to me that I have not been much conformed into the pattern of Jesus Christ even though I am born again and have received the Spirit. This is not a "poor whoa is me" comment, quite the contrary. The term used by Michael; "gulf that exists between our heart and our mind" is extremely powerful. It has opened my eyes to see that simply having a heart that says "I want to be to the praise of your glory" and to be declaring that constantly is good but we must also actively seek to know God in order to have the mind of Christ too. Having the mind of Christ is not some sort of academic study but revelation that is received, understood and lived out in us by the indwelling presence of God. I pray that we can be His people who know Him and have the mind of Christ which is made known to us by the Father, in Christ, via the Spirit.

As I have been searching my old way of thinking over the weeks past and seriously questioning that which i believe true alongside that which is truth in Christ, how very sad to know that so many things of God were lost and wasted and the end result destruction instead of the absolute joy and life that comes when this life is lived always in God's truth completely. I am grateful truly that God does not leave us the way we were and i pray that continually my thoughts would be put to death and replaced with His thoughts and ways alone. I am constantly reminded lately of the question I asked God years ago after reading in His word that my thoughts were not His and His ways are much higher than mine. At the time I asked God, "Which thoughts and ways of mine are not like Yours?" In my heart I was eager to change those things that I knew He would point out. Never for a moment did I expect the answer that came. His answer was, "NONE of your ways and thoughts are like Mine." I have the word of God and His Spirit within and I pray that never will I excuse myself over glorifying the One who's life was given for mine. He has taken what was awful and tainted and is making it like Himself, that I would let it go and not think that anything but knowing Christ is worth keeping. Thank you Michael that you are never satisfied with anything other than knowing Christ more and more so that our lives, His church can shine Him and Him alone. May we as His people truly glorify Him.
