Eph 2:19-21You are… God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.
APOSTOLIC HORIZON INTERNATIONAL—In western culture, emphasis is placed so strongly on individualism that society loses its communal identity and breaks down to become a group of strangers trying to inhabit the same space and time. Through the work of Jesus Christ, the crucified God, individuals are redeemed from sin and its related isolation and formed into communities of faith inhabited by God through the Holy Spirit (1Cor 3:16-17).
God’s people, as “living stones” (1Pt 2:4-5), are being built together to display to all of creation the wisdom of God (Eph 3:10). This corporate body, which is called “The Church”, is built upon the foundation of apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself as the chief cornerstone.
The purpose of Apostolic Horizon International is to be a foundational ministry within its God-ordained sphere of influence. We work with local ascension gift ministries wherever a “Macedonian call” (Act 16:9) is received. We partner with churches and leaders to bring the body of Christ into the freedom that is found when it reaches “unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become[s] mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” (Eph 4:13)
The name “Apostolic Horizon International” is not simply a title to hang our ministry on, but an expression of what that ministry is.
Apostolic speaks of the ambassadorial ministry of the Kingdom of God. It is firstly a “proclamation ministry”, declaring Jesus Christ and preaching the message of the cross (Mat 16:18; 1Cor 2:1-2). Jesus has been given all authority in heaven and earth and has delegated His authority to apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to build The Church into a body of interrelated disciples. It is the corporate body that must grow up to maturity. This maturity is demonstrated as each member, joined and held together in the body, does its part. (A disjointed and paroxysmal body will not do).
Horizon speaks naturally of vision. The church is to be an eschatological people – by that we mean a people whose present is affected by and lived out in anticipation of the future hope of Jesus’ return. The mature church is not shaped by relativism, conservatism, triumphalism or protectivism but by the cross of Jesus Christ and His advancing Kingdom. Apostolic Horizon International receives its vision, direction and results through prayer, specifically through the prayer, “your kingdom come oh Lord, your will be done, in us and through us even as it is done in heaven.”
International is in line with the words of Jesus in Act 1:8. “…you will be my witnesses… to the ends of the earth”. We will not be restricted by borders or distance but will go to the ends of the earth to fulfil the apostolic calling of this ministry.
